Please could someone look up Edward & Ann Crawley on the 1841 census for me, known to have been living in Hertingfordbury.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tracy,

Can't help you with the look-up - but have a look at my website there are a few "Crawley" on there from Hitchin and the area.

Not my direct line but they fit on my tree.

Found your Edward and Ann whilst trawling for your other post for John Crawley

HO107/444/14  F.12.   P.17  Birch Green, Hertingfordbury.
Edward Crawley  60  Shoe Maker
Ann Crawley  56
George Crawley  15
All born in county.

Also in Hertingfordbury village  on F.4. P.1.
James Crawley   40  Shoe Maker
Maria Crawley    35
Maria Crawley     9
All born in county.

and F.12. P.18.

Elizabeth Crawley   60  Cole Green Lodge, Hertingfordbury
(Died  10 Oct 1847)

There is an entry in the Hertfordshhire Burial Index - Elizabeth Crawley  Age 37  15 June 1845  Hertford (All Saints)   This could be John's first wife.

I had no luck finding John in the 1841, did Benzon quote any census reference?.

Thank you so much for finding Edward & Ann Crawley for me on the 1841 census plus the addtional information on both the Elizabeth Crawley's death, and the census return for James Crawley, am ever so grateful for all your help.

Benzon did not quote the 1841 census reference for the John Crawley finding.
