please could anyone do the following look ups?
1841 CENSUS-WILLIAM THORNHILL b.abt 1820 Shipley Derbys-father SAMUEL, mother ELIZABETH
1871 and 1891 census -WILLIAM THORNHILL b. abt 1862 Shipley-father RICHARD B. 1831 Shipley, mother HANNAH
1841 /51 CENSUS-RICHARD THORNHILL b 1831 Shipley
1841/51 CENSUS-RICHARD THORNHILL b 1829 Shipley
They are two different RICHARDS-both married Hannahs (Parker and Clifford) and they lived a few doors away from each other at some time!!
They should be found in Shipley, Heanor, Ilkeston area
A bit complicated!!! Help would be appreciated.

Yes these are mine-maybe you wont find them on 1891 -. At some time between 1881 and 1901 richard had remarried (eliza baker) and they had 3 children together(first one bef marriage)-By 1901 they had moved to Glass Houghton Yorks=leaving children from 1st marriage behind-some married , others "in service" in Notts /Derby area.

Where are you William- I know where he was in 1901-Bridge Street langley Mill-married to Elizabeth
In 1881 he was a servant at Quelgreaves Farm Shipley
Wonder what he was up to in 1891???

thanks for looking-that isn't my william tho-the "Mickleover" Thornhills are very distant relativs tho!
My William married Elizabeth Cresswell 1897 and then lived at Langley Mill Derbys I have a gap between 1881 and 1897- i think when he married he had recently been a solsier-and had served in India-but that is only family recollections-no definate proof anywhere
