Hi RajahNZ,

Have none of your names in my family tree but live in village next to Holton and have records of a number of Pickess Marraiges in surrounding area 1813-1837.
Unusual name around here nowadays so my info might be useful.

Have you any Christian names/ dates.

Regards

Terry

Hi Blanchflower, thanks for your reply.

I would need you to go back further to see whether we have the same family.  Do you have any more info on your Elizabeth - parents or better still grandparents?

The only info I have on my Dorothy Garwood is a birth c1709 in either Kettleburg or Wilby.   She had 12 children, one of which was Thomas and also an Elizabeth.

Cheers

Hi Rajah NZ,

I've got a few hundred Pickess's from Suffolk.

The Pickess, Garwood, Reeve link that I have is as follows:

Thomas Garwood Pickess was baptised at Holton St Mary on 20 Nov 1819. His parents were John Pickess and Mary Garrood, both of Holton St Mary. Thomas married Harriet Reeve (born c1823) in the Lexden District, Essex in 1840. I'm unable to find them on the census, but I believe they moved to NZL around 1860. Thomas had 11 siblings including my GG Grandad Henry Pickess.

Best Regards

David

Hi RajahNZ

If you look to the left of the page, you will see under the name of the contributor is a little green scroll.  If you hover over this you will see that it is for sending private messages - so click on the little green scroll next to the person you wish to contact, send them a message.

At the very top of the opening page you will read....welcome back RajahNZ ..... and it will then tell you if you have any private messages, click on the number of messages and it will take you to your messaging centre at Rootschat.

I hope that I have explained it clearly - it's easy when you know how, and trying to explain might sound a bit complicated - but it isn't  Grin
