Hi, I would like to join together 2 photos using Photoshop. As in a long old type marriage cert that has to be scanned in 2 halves. In very simple terms how do I do it? exdikslik Dave

Hi Dave,
Quite easy to do - now to try and explain!!
Open both pics - on one go to canvas size - double the width - press the left centre arrow. You should now have a blank area off your original.
Go to the 2nd pic- duplicate it - drag that level/duplicate into the first pic - adjust with the move arrow.
When that doesn't work get back!!
Cheers
Keith

Hi Dave, If the photo's are of the same document, try photomerge. I use Photoshop Elements so I assume the same programme is also on your software. Go to file, on the drop down menu select photomerge and follow the instructions. I often stitch 3 photo's together to form a wide panoramic view such as at weddings. All taken with an hand held camera. given the proper conditions it can work like magic. You may have to experiment by using the manual controls if it doesn't work on auto. Worth a try. Lets us know how you get on. Tomkin

Tomkin, I have PS7 and the merge thingy just wasn't there.
Keith, What is the 'left center arrow'? Also I was unable to drag the photo over.
The problem was eventually solved using 'Transform' and 'copy and paste' with some 'duplicate' and 'merge down' thrown in for good measure, but I know I will have the same problems if I wanted to do it again.
cheers anyway Dave

Hi Dave, Pity about the photomerge, it can be really magical. When I first tried it I couldn't believe it. I tried Keiths method and it worked perfectly. As I am useless at explaining technical things I'll let Keith explain, but it does work. Tomkin

Hi Dave,
When you open the "Image - canvas size" you will get a window as below.
Press one of the arrow keys (3 o'clock or 9 o'clock) to add a blank area at the side.
Then drag your duplicate copy from the other photo (in the layers window) and drop it into the blank area.
Hope that makes sense
Cheers
Keith

Ok I've now found a 'Move' tool that I hadn't used before. I should get my daughter to do this she's far more into techno stuff than me. I'm still having trouble with the video recorder and the dvd player is a no go area thanks again Dave
