Towards the end of last year i visited London to look round the Family Records Centre and was rather annoyed at my typical luck. It just so happened that 3 days before my visit they had removed all the huge book things (I forget name) from 1940's onwards. Seen as the most important thing i wanted to do while there was go through these from 1949 onwards i was a little miffed. At the time i didn't make much sense of the notice as to why they had been removed. All i know is they were not on public display anywhere else.
Are these records back for the public to view now? I sure don't want to travel all the way to London again for nothing!
The Family Records Centre was closed after 15th March 2008 following which the records and services provided at the Myddelton Street Office will no longer be available. You need to go to the National Archives at Kew.
