I have Mary Jane Smith, born c. 1844 in Old Weston, marrying William Walpole in Lincolnshire in 1868. She gave her father's name as James Smith, a farmer. I can't find Mary Jane on the 1851 or 1861 censuses. I've found a James Smith on the 1851, born in Old Weston in 1807. He was farming in Barnwell St Andrew in Northants, and had 2 sons - no Mary Jane. I'd be grateful for any help or suggestions.

Hi Suttontrust,
The 1851 census has the following family in Old Weston
James Smith, mar, farmer, b Old Weston c1809 Sarah J, dau, 15, b Old Weston John J, son, 11, b Barham Hannah R, 10, b Barham George W, 8, b Barham Mary J, 5, b Barham Violet, 2, b Old Weston.
Jacob U Fenson, servt, 19
Age not quite right, but here they are again in 1861 in presumably the same place (no specific address):
James Smith, 52, farmer, b Old Weston Jane Smith, 44, wife, b Wodehouse, Yorkshire John J , 22, b Barham George W, 18, b Barham Mary J, 17, teacher in a school, b Barham Violet B, 12, b Old Weston James J, 10, b Old Weston Jane A E, 7, b Old Weston Lucy M, 4, b Old Weston Isaac A, 1, b Old Weston Matthew Miller, groom James Batt/Pratt, servt
Looking good?
Cheers,
Ros
