I was wondering if there were many Frederick Sutherland names(born Derby, Derby) on the index...am stuck and hoping to get really lucky!!!

Also found this in the Nottingham marriages
Frederick Southerland married Elizabeth Rice 30 Dec 1872
Sacred Hearts R.C.
I had a quick check for any baptisms to Frederick Sutherland/Southerland and Elizabeth but there wasn't any.
Perhaps the two marriages are not connected as this one was before the other.

Wow Sunflower - you've been busy!!
Sad that there aren't any Frederick Sutherlands on 51 index..guess i'll keep looking.
The 1877 marriage is too late as know Elizabeth had children Lizzie Rice, c1872 and Frank Rice c 1870...am still looking for their birth details as well!!
As for the 1872 marriage, well that certainly looks like a possibility - will look into that one. Many thanks Sunflower.I really appreciate your help.

Hi Sunflower,
yes those are mine...am trying to trace them back but this side of the family are proving to be difficult.
Have them on 81,91 and eventually managed to find them on 1901.
Have a "possible" birth cert for Walter but haven't found the marriage cert to Lizzie...or any of her other marriages either...
I've just recently found "Bertie Sutherland" - so have at least got hubby no.2 name from that birth cert.Am trying to wortk out who No.1 Hubby was and maybe who Lizzies father was etc
I'll keep plodding on - am bound to get somewhere ..eventually!!
Thanks again for the Southerland/Rice marriage.

Dont know if this is of any help-my family married into the Rice family in 1700s- the Rice family was from Sawley (notts /Derbys border-and some of them moved to Sheffield-just thought it may give you another option as to where to look
