Hello again,
It may be a long shot, but could you check if there is a marriage between Samuel Adkinson (Atkinson) and Ann Groom circa 1835/36 (first child born 1837).
Should be Hyde, Cheshire area.
Thanks Joan

Hi, I am looking for a Samuel Oldham born abt 1808 married to a Nancy born abt 1809 Stockport Cheshire, married about 1829/1830, can you help me please.
The only marriage I can see which may fit is Sam OLDHAM m Ann SHAW 27 Aug 1822 at Mottram in Longdendale - but it looks as if this is too early (and in the wrong place!)
Others: Samuel OLDHAM (bankman at coalpit) m Esther BRADLEY 6 Oct 1822 at Stockport Samuel OLDHAM wdwr m Ann WRIGLEY (wdw) 18 Jan 1835 at Stockport
Ann and Nancy can be interchangeable. Could he have been married before, what was Samuel's occupation, or were any of the children born after 1837?

Hi, Thanks for looking, I think Samuel was a weaver, but his wife Nancy died 1849 only 43 yrs old, he did remarry in 1850 to a Mary Ann Renshaw, but I think Nancy was his first wife, I have found them on the 1841 census, but thanks again for looking.

Hi Lizzie,
It's not from Philimores it is from the North East Cheshire Index - sorry it's the only information given on the index but you could email Cheshire Records Office for the full details as you have an exact date.

Hi Jeremy
There is a marriage on cheshirebmd site for 1844 at St Elphin's, Warrington:
Charles Fogell to Ann Buxton
Warrington was in Lancashire at the time of the marriage, although now in Cheshire
Sadly, the transcriptions of St Elphin's records on lan-opc have not yet reached 1844.

Hi,
I wonder if someone would be kind enough to look for a marriage between a John Quin/Quinn and a Ann Scanlan/Scanlon. Possibly the marriage took place in Stockport and I would think between the years of 1830 to 1836.
Warmest Regards Judith
Hi Judith,
Nothing for any of the possible spellings. The Churches covered are generally CoE so if the couple were Catholic or Non Conformist they would be unlikely to be included.
