WARING - Brimstage 1841 and 1851
« on: Wednesday 08 March 06 17:23 GMT (UK) »

I am looking for Williiam Waring and his wife Hannah, a farmer of Brimstage in Cheshire in the early 1820's.  I am especially interested in the name of their farm and I wondered if someone could look them up in an early census please?

Hi

There is only a William 1805 with a wife Mary (no Hannah )in the 1841/1851 living in Brimstage. could it be them you are looking for, they had children
George 1830, James 1833, Mary Ann 1837.
If it is them I will get you the full details.

William was a farm labourer in 1841, and a farmer of 9 acres in 1851. No farm names though.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your time, I am not sure this family is right. I have found the christenings for the other children you mentioned and their siblings John 1820, Elizabeth 1822 and their fathers occupation is "farmer".

My William was definitely a farmer of Brimstage when his daughter Hannah married my g.g.grandfather aged 18 in 1843  - according to Cheshire Parish Records. I can find no record of this Hannah but I have a William and Hannah having a daughter Ann christened on15/09/1826 in Bromborough and as Ann is often used for Hannah, I wondered if it was the right one... however just to make things more difficult the age on Hannah's  gravestone is 82 when she died in January 1903 which doesn't match the wedding age!

Hi Iria and Peter,

Thanks, this looked promising and then I realised we can definitely rule them out as Hannah got married in 1843 and was living in West Kirby so couldn't be with them in 1851 so back to the drawing board.
