Dear Members,
Can someone please help me to find more information in Bath regarding my Great Grandparents, Jonathan and Maria [nee Blackwell] HARRIS. Maria BLACKWELL was born in 1828 in Bristol to John and Sarah Ann [nee Bullock] BLACKWELL.
Jonathan HARRIS and Maria BLACKWELL were married in October 1849 at the New King Street Wesleyan Church, Bath. My researching has found that the Church no longer exists.
Jonathan HARRIS, b 1828 Hythe, KENT was a Wesleyan Educator who may have had other associations with the New King Street Church and the City of Bath education. He was a very accomplished musician as well as being a school teacher.
Jonathan and Maria HARRIS departed London/Plymouth in November 1849 on the "KING WILLIAM" to emigrate to Natal RSA with a group selected by Mr JC Byrne of London and Mr JB Wilcocks of Plymouth. "These emigrants, .... go out under the auspices of the Natal Colonization Society ...."
Any small snippet of information or research clue would be thankfully received.
Sincerely
