I have no idea where the places you have named are.  But there are lots of people by that name in Gloucs., especially Little Sodbury, Tortworth, Thornbury, and St Mary de Lode.  Perhaps these are nearby, but I am not familiar with Gloucs.

Hi Ashton,

I note from the 1851 they were at Calamore, Littledean.

I don't have 1841 for that area but the ref is

HO107/364-14.  Perhaps someone could look  Smiley

Unfortunately the 1841 census is not indexed Roll Eyes

Ashton

The 1841 Glos is indexed and no one by the name of Draisey (and variants) lives in Flaxley.........
You have George 20, Louisa 20 and their son George 4 living at Sherborne Street, St John the Baptist, Gloucester and they are the only ones living on that side of the river in 1841

and the rest (all 39 of them) live just north of Bristol as per Loo's post

If you have someone specific you are looking for in 1841..........please state his or her name?

Hi Bryant,

"The 1841 Glos census is indexed"   Huh

How long since?  When I asked this question a while ago was told it wasn't.

I have the parts I am interested in and ploughed through  looking for ancestors Huh  Then that's half the fun of research  Grin

Susan

It comes at a price (£34-50 per year)........through the Origins Network....I think I can view about 19 Counties (including Glos and Glamorgan and those Counties below Glos to the west of England....the transcribing is very very good and you can view the original at the press of a button! the rest are slowly being added. Can't see the bigger Counties at the moment ie London, Middx & Surrey...Yorks, Lancs
They do have the 1871 however for London, Surrey & Middx

Insert a name and it also gives you 3 options...exact, close variants & all variants........it is very good but as I said...at a price

Anyway, if you want anyone in 1841...let us know

Regards

Hello Bryant.

Yes I have the Gloucester family.

I will now have to have a 're-think' on where next to look

Thanks

Yes, I was using Origins as well.  You can use it on a temporary basis for significantly less money, so mine will expire mid-Nov, as I just took a month.  You can always get another month some other time when you hav more to look up, or even just a few days.
Does anyone happen to know whether Origins is eventually going to include London?  They seem to be adding new counties regularly.  It would be wonderful to have London indexed for 1841.
