Argyll Archives Office/Lochgilphead

Among my notes I have found a scribble  Undecided  I must have seen a reference to this somewhere, all I have written is 

"Argyll Archives Office at Lochgilphead - some records and library".  Can anyone give me an address and or any information on what records may be held there?

The Archivist for Argyll-Bute (Mr Murdo MacDonald) who was the full-time archivist there for the last 30 years, retired in April this year. He was not replaced. His duties were spread out amongst 3 other people who were sent on records management courses in order to manage the archives on a part time basis.

This will save the Argyll-Bute county council some 30,000 pounds per year.
I wonder how long the part-timers will take before they ask for a pay-rise for taking on extra duties Huh

Would'nt you know it, the one week we were within spitting distance of the Argyll & Bute Archives just happened to be the week good old Murdo retired  Cry

I left my request with them in writing but have not heard anything yet...think I'll have to fire off an e.mail !
