Anna, I feel that even more detail is in the pic, but you would need to scan it at 600dpi full colour and post it as close to the 500kb limit as possible. IF I am right then hopefully we can get a very nice pic'. Denn

Hi,
Had a bit of a playaround...don't think there is anymore defination to be got out of this pic..................brightness, contrast and levels adjustments don't reveal any hidden details. or appear to enhance already there details.
Have you tried using scanner to enlarge rather than resizing through image editor. ?

Thanks Anna, Sorry to say but I was sadly mistaken - as Skippy says there isn't much more info' in the big scan, but at least it was worth a try (larger scans usually give a lot more info). Anyhow here is my attempt, although I am not 100% happy with it. Denn

Hi Anna
If you scan at as high a resolution as your scanner will allow (1200 dpi?), this will give a larger file size. The scan may look the same, but will contain more info. The image can then be enlarged using your image editing software. Do this by reducing the resolution with the resample option turned off. This will increase the hight/width, while ensuring that the original file size (in kb) is maintained - so you get a larger pic without loss of quality.
A final resolution of 150dpi will be fine for printing on an inkjet printer.
Hope this is (slightly) clearer than mud
Bob
