I have promised myself that I would learn how to use photoshop 7 to colourise (I dont know how to do anything else with it yet but with the step by step on this site and plenty of patience I am going to colour a picture.

Wish me luck!!!

Well, as I said earlier (albeit on the wrong board Cry) I have promised that when I had time I would try the step by step method for colourising given on here.

So I have spent the past hour and a bit coluring my gran.

I am not happy with her face and eyes but other than that I think I have done ok (apart from my terrible colour co ordination)

Any tips for future goes?

The one tip I can give you is to remember to get up and stretch your legs every half an hour as once you start it is very hard to stop.

Practice, practice, practice!!!

Can't wait to see your progress.

It is only when you see it big you notice all the bits you got wrong -cuff of the dress round the teddys neck, hem of skirt (right hand side), little silver ring on her left hand (in her lap)

But I am happy with it (for the moment)

Thanks Kizmiaz for your wonderful tutorial

Duly noted - Thanks Sharon

Quick question though - have you found a correlation between colourising and stiff necks? I am aching now (and lets face it it cant just be PC work as I am here all day most days!!!!)?

Hi Anna,

Quote
have you found a correlation between colourising and stiff necks?

It's not just the colourising but the side effect of .......

           total concentration Grin

You forget to move,
you forget to breathe,
you forget to eat,
and even when you have a cup of tea/coffee right next to you it gets cold
'cause you forget to drink it  Grin

I have the same problem with programming problems sometimes;
I think I've thrown away more cold coffee than I've drunk hot coffee  Grin

But the results (of your colourising) look wonderful  Smiley

More power to yer elbow !!

I have to say I didnt realise how addictive this would be (says she who wont admit she is a genealogy addict!)
I inhereted hundreds of pictures - I cant colourise them all!?!?!?!??!!?! - but I am having fun working out how to use photoshop 7.

So I can now colourise but I dont know how to repair pictures - anyone want to write a step by step for that?Huh??

I have colourised the picture that is on my profile so I am posting that and then I am only going to use my new found skills for others rather than turning this board into my own personal gallery!!!
