Hi Osborn,

The only Eveleigh - Baptist marriage I can spot is
December 1906 Holborn
Emma Eveleigh - John or Joseph Baptist
1b 1179

I can't see any likely candidate for either Frederick James Baptist junior or senior  Undecided

Thank you for the info.  It is a real puzzle to solve and even harder when there are no dates to go on.

Ely is up in Cambridgeshire:

http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/CAM/Ely/index.html

I can't find anything about any Frederick Baptist but the name Frederick BATISTE does show up in the Channel Islands.  May be a red herring though.

Possibly John/Joseph Baptist was his stepfather? Where did your information about his birth/parents come from - if it's death records for example the family could have mixed together 'named after his father' (Frederick James Huh) with the last name of his stepfather (Baptist) and come to the obvious conclusion...

This is a mystery,isn't it?

On Frederick James Baptist (Jnr) Marriage Certificate his father is listed as Frederick James Baptist , driver, and his mother as Emma Eveleigh.

On Frederick James Baptist (jnr) passport he lists his birthplace as London.

I think FJB (jnr) also worked on a farm in a place called March (near Ely?)??

Thank you for any help.......Osborn
