Also researching Copeland/Coupland name.

I have Thomas Coupland born abt 1776 Whitehaven Cumberland married Mary Scott.
Children William baptised St James Whitehaven 1805 and Thomas bpt 1806 St James Whitehaven/
William born 1805 was my great great grandfather. He moved to Haltwhistle in Northumberland- he was standing engine man at Blenkinsopp colliery by 1841.
Children: Jane b 1829 Dalston Cumberland
              Mary b. 1832/3   Scotland
              Thomas b. 1839 Angerton d, 1839 Angerton
             Thomas b, 1840 died 1926 Melbourne Australia
             Joseph b. 1842 Haltwhistle
             William b 1845 Haltwhistle
             Elizabeth b 1847 Haltwhistle
            John b 1849 d. 1924 Ashton-under-Lyne Lancs
            Agnes b. 1851  Haltwhistle
