Germaine and Rice Families

Seeking any information on the Germaine family of Ballyburn,Co.Kildare pre 1835,and also the family of Patrick Rice born Meganey circa 1813,Patrick farmed at Dunmanoge into the 1850s and probably longer.
Patrick married Mary Germaine in Castledermot in 1834,they are my Gt.Gt.Grandparents.Any information gratefully received.

My grandfather was James Rice born Castledermot around 1898.  James has eight children these include John, James, Christine, Helen, Edmund, Margaret, Patrick and Maureen.  They had a pub called Rice's.  This is all I know.  Is there any connection to you?  Thanks.

Hello Margaret,The answer to your question is I simply do not know.
The fact that your grandfather was from Castledermot makes it seem likely but I can't say more than that.
The children of my gt.gt.grandparents Patrick Rice and Mary (nee Germaine) were all baptised at the church of The Assumption in Castledermot,the children were Mary,my gt.grandmother,John 1837,Catherine 1839,Michael 1842,Anne 1845,Patrick 1848,and Thomas 1853.
The parish office at Castledermot has a good selection of marriage and baptismal records,but the staff although helpful are very inexperienced.Hope this is of some help to you.Please do contact me again if you find out anything further.
