Hi, I would be grateful for a search of the 1841 census for Mary Bosley born in Stockport c1827. Her father was William Bosley. She married in Tarvin in 1850 and each census from 1851 says she was born in Stockport but there is every possibility that she could be living in the Tarvin area, a very problematic ancestor! Thanks Richard.

You have to remember they rounded the ages down (I think)
I nearly missed them because the enumerator had done a large William then couldn't fit all of Bosley on the line, so he put Bosl, then the ey above it.
I hope they are yours anyway.
Kind regards Su

I think this may answer your query as to why Mary says she was born in Stockport.
William Bosley married Mary Ann Jackson 29/9/1828 at Stockport, it would seem that Mary Ann was a Stockport lass (marrying in her own parish) she would have gone home to mum or relative to have her first child, no NHS in them days.
