Acres & Woods Familes in Tipperary

Hi,

I'm researching the connection between the Acres And Woods families of Tipperary (Roscrea).
At some stage the name Acres was given to the eldest son of the Woods family and passed on down to the present day.
The earliest example I have of this is William Acres Woods born about 1890.

Any information or ideas on how to research this connection would be greatly appreciated.
