I'm wondering if the OP has 'made' the family fit?
A Thomas & Mary are in Twyford 1861, but no trail to show where they have been.

1851: HO107/1724 F442 P24 both age 59y

Pauine.
I have had a lot of trouble finding these Hills. Here is how I got to Thomas and Mary.

I start with James Hill my husbands Grt Grandfather
In 1881 he was age 5 born Wynnal Chinnor Oxford.

Father not on census.
Mother Elizabeth Hill age 52 born Prestwood Bucks.

1871 census Oxford.
Thomas Hill age 42 born Towersey Bucks
Elizabeth     age 40 born Prestwood

1861 census Bledlow ridge Bucks
Thomas Hill age 30 born Towersey
Elizabeth age 31 born Prestwood

I also found Thomas Hill married Elizabeth Howse in 1850 Wycombe.Found this on the family search sight.

Also on same sight I found
Thomas Hill born 1828 Twyford Bucks
Father Thomas Hill Mother Mary.

I think that the Mary in question has a surname of Odell or Cawcutt not sure which one.

I may have made a mistake somewhere so if you can see anything wrong I would be glad to hear from you.

Many thanks

Thomas consistently states his birthplace is Towersey never Twyford.

1851 census HO107 1720 folio 623
Ridge Bledlow  Buckinghamshire
Thomas Hill  23 Towersey, Buckinghamshire, Head Married Farmers son
Elizabeth Hill  21  Prestwood, Buckinghamshire, Wife Married
Edwin Herbert Hill 4mths  Bledlow Ridge, Buckinghamshire, Son

Twyford's parish records are on the IGI Towersey parish registers are not. You can't in any research try to fit something simply because there is a found baptism at about the same time for a very common name in another parish in Buckinghamshire.

Twyford burial records strongly suggest this is a wrong connection and Thomas Hill was telling the truth on all the censuses. You really need Thomas' marriage details to find out more information about his father.

10th June 1828
Assumption of the Blessed Mary Twyford
Thomas Hill infant

Henry Hill still remains the strongest candidate for the father of Thomas. You need Thomas' marriage details to prove it one way or another. You can order Thomas' marriage certificate online from the GRO

Buckinghamshire Family History Society also have a baptismal index which covers the period in Towersey you are interested in.

Thank you for your help, I'm afraid I am a bit of a novice at family research.

I will follow up on your information.

Kind regards
