Hi Suttontrust
Mardol is a street in Shrewsbury, and still survives today. It's quite a busy area with several pubs, a large health club, pizza restaurant, a florists to name but a few.
http://www.shropshiretourism.info/shrewsbury/map/zoom1/1a.htm Have a look at this map and you will see that Mardol runs from the Smithfield Road up to Mardol Head.
Here's a photo of the street http://www.darwinshrewsbury.org/darwinwalk/1 and also an explanation of the name! If you continue to "walk forward" you'll see some good photos of several of the properties.

hello Suttontrust
I hope that you continued to "walk forward" to at least walk 12 where there is a lovely photograph of St Chads.

When I go to the Shropshire Archives again I would be more than happy to see if I can find out anything for you. Let me have all the information that you have got.
Have you found them on all the Census?
...and finally....Yes I did - there are some great photos of St Chad's on the net.
the real thing is better still!
I was christened in St Chad's - it's beautiful.
