« on: Saturday 18 March 06 23:12 GMT (UK) »

Looking for Richard Taylor born 1892 Glasgow who emigrated to US in 1923.  Wife Winifred.

Looking for passenger record 1923 (would have been single), and also marriage record 1925/1926 possibly Philadelphia PA.

Please can anyone help, much appreciated  Smiley   Smiley

Hi L23,

There is a passenger record for a Richard Taylor, Engineer, age 30, single, arriving 8 Jan 1923 on the "Columbia" at New York from Glasgow (his birthplace) and travelling to Philadelphia.  His sister's name is given as Mrs Annie McGerty, 29 Blenheim Street, Springburn.
He is described as having a fresh complexion and dark hazel eyes.
Also listed are Daniel Taylor, Engineer, age 26, from Glasgow, and William Taylor, Engineer, age 24, from Glasgow.  Both are married and their wife's names are Mrs Catherine Taylor, 82 Gourlay St. Springburn, and Mrs Elizabeth Taylor, 210 Possil Road, Glasgow.  Both men are travelling to Philadelphia.  Might there be a connection between these three ?  They are listed together on the record.
Let me know if you think this Richard is the correct person.

Isles.
