Searching for Hughes. Earliest I have is David (b1811) m Jane Jones (b1813). At the moment I have their children as:- Martha (1839), John (1840), Abel (1842), Harriet (1845), William (1852) and Jane (1855).

You do not say how you came about this information - was it through census info or other records?
David Hughes and Jane Jones are not the easiest of names to trace in Wales and the border counties - I know to my cost  Sad
If the earliest birth was Martha in 1839, then their might just be a marriage registration for them - 1837 to 1839. It would be worth checking on FreeBMD, Ancestry, 1837online, etc.
