Would someone be able to please take a photo of the RICKETTS grave for me. According to the Intermnet Notice the Grave space is either G197 or C197 (I hope this is enough information for location). Interned together are: James RICKETTS d. 31 Mar 1932 Reginald James RICKETTS d. 3 Apr 1970 Mary Jane RICKETTS d. 27 Nov 1979
Thanks in advance for any help.

The number is C197. There is also another buried alongside the 3 you mention
Burial 13585 David John Davies age 6 mths C197 died 1904
Also if you post your message on Vicky's thread you may have more luck with a photograph, she has offered in the past to do this, but don't know if it still stands. Check link.

Thanks Vicky and Cas!!
Vickey -anytime for the photo is OK with me. Can I ask for one more photo? Only if you have to drive through Trealaw and it's not too much trouble. Would you be able to take a picture of #5 Miskin Road. My RICKETTS lived there from 1933 - 1970.
Cas - I had also found out this information, but I don't really understand what it means. The earliest RICKETTS burial is 1932 and while it's true one of the RICKETTS married a DAVIES it wasn't until 1946. Does this mean there was a relationship before or were unrelated people often buried together?
Thanks again for all the help. Pam

Hi Pam,
Think the only way to know for sure is to get the internment info via email from Treorchy Library (google for addie) Sometimes there are unrelated burials after many years so the child may not be related tyo you.
The family ref librarian in Treorchy is excellent and am sure will find you an answer .

Vicky,
Thank you so much for the pictures. They turned out great!! I appreciate the time and effort it takes to make these trips - I certainly hope it wasn't too far.
Can you tell me about the black urns on the graves. I'm not familiar with them. I assume they are to hold flowers. The one on the the Ricketts grave looks like the word Dad on it. Are these placed on the aniversary of deaths or at time of burial?
Thanks again for the wonderful pictures. Pam

The black urns / vases are for holding flowers placed at the grave. It seems to be bnded to the masonry by some kind of cement. I would guess that it was done at the time of burial.
I suspect the inscription 'Dad' is for James Ricketts by his son Reginald.

Hi all, Mary and Reginald are my maternal grandparents. I would love to chat about them both as I have an abundance of fond memories. Much of my younger years were happily spent with them both. My mum is their youngest daughter. I would also appreciate any info. regarding my uncle, John rickets who was killed in action WW11.

Wow,
I didn't think I would ever hear from anyone in the family. I don't know much about the current history but was curious about Reginald and his father James. My husband's grandmother was a Ricketts in fact she was the half sister of Reginald. I would like to email you more about this. If you want you can contact me off line at crjellicoe@shaw.ca
