I am looking for William Stuffin/s/g born approx 1740 possibly Glatton as he was married there and raised a family there.

William Stuffin birth 1741 St Marys and St Benedicts Huntingdon,
Wife  Elizabeth Tarry married 6 November 1766 St Marys and St Benedicts Huntingdon

You need to take that 1741 entry on the IGI with a large pinch of salt! It's a member submission which I always treat with great suspicion - this particular one the member didn't have a clue where William was born, merely deducted 25 from the date of the marriage and put the same parish down as his birthplace. He may well have been born elsewhere.

You really need to check the marriage entry in the parish register to see if his parish of residence was other than "of this parish" - unfortunately there isn't a transcript for this parish available from Hunts FHS, but it has been filmed by the LDS so a copy could be viewed at your nearest LDS Family History Centre
