Hi Valerie
I couldn't see any Capons in Clophill in 1841 I'm afraid.
The only Capon burials in the parish were Edward 24 May 1779 Sarah 22 June 1801 and I can't see an obvious burial in Beds for Joseph.
Perhaps the whole family decamped to London
In addition to the four christenings that John found there's also another Edward chr 30 July 1780, parents William or Joseph and Mary Capon. These are the earliest events for Capons in Clophill, so I don't think Joseph was from that parish, but I can't see a marriage of Joseph and Mary anywhere in the country on the IGI - and virtually all Beds pre 1812 has been extracted onto the IGI.
There were also Capons in the nearby parish of Lidlington, so possibly Joseph was from there - a Joseph was christened there in 1755, there's no sign of a marriage/burial for him, and the date fits with the christening of a first child in 1775, so it might be worth investigating the Lidlington Capons.
Not much help I'm afraid!
Regards
David

Hi Valerie
I have a number of the Biggleswade/Langford/Henlow Capons in my tree but I haven't seen any connection with the Clophill/Lidlington families, although there may have been an earlier offshoot.
In 1851 and 1861 Charles/John was living at the same address in Holborn. Pallots Marriage Index has 2 marriages of John Capon in Holborn St Andrew, either/both of which could be him: 1812 to Mary Ann Upton 1821 to Ann Taylor

Hi Valerie
Don't waste £7, as death certs do not show maiden names. However if any of her children were born after 1837 their birth certs will give her maiden name
