Hi Von,
The GRO (Government Record Office) offer a service called "Traceline" for people looking for lost relatives. You have to phone them first, to discuss it, - before they will send you an application form. I believe that they charge a flat fee of £30.00 for the service.
Best Wishes, Romilly.

Hi Annie.that sounds wonderfull,
I would need help as i've never done a search before.
I dont really know anything about the Timmins side of my family,as you know i've never even met my Father,my Mother would never talk about him.
Thank you once again.
Von.

Hi Von,
This looks as if it could be the reg. data for your parents' marriage:
Albert D Timmins spouse Grindey (note sp), Dec q 1949, Chapel-le-F, 10a/1470.
There is a suggestion on another posting that Chapel-le-F refers to Chapel-en-le-Frith, Derbyshire, just north of Buxton, Derbyshire.
Vanda's suggestion is looking good!
Anyway, if you send away for this certificate it will give you the names of parents, ages etc and get you started on the Timmins family.
Cheers,
Ros

Hi Von,
Interesting to read your full name. I thought mmm, perhaps they called you Veronica because they liked the name, Jean after your Mum, and Daisy after someone on his side of the family.
Sure enough, there in the 1901 census is a Daisy Timmins living at 6 Stables (?) St, Derby, Derbyshire:
Mary Timmins, 33, head, mar, b Ireland Walter J, 8, Kent Daisy M., 7, Kent John, 4, Derby Benjamin, 2, Derby.
Just a hunch - dreadfully unscientific - but I'd be very interested to know if your grandfather turns out to be either Walter, Benjamin or John!
Don't forget to let us know how you get on!
Cheers,
Ros
