Please Help. I am researching the name Boardwell. Since C1650 name associated with North East Lancashire. Recent American contact has suggested there is a link with the Parish of Bordwell in Laois. However I am inclined to think this is a co-incidence. Can anyone tell me if there is a family name of Bordwell associated with this parish and, if so, what happened to the name since I can find no modern trace of it,

Bordwell or Boardwell Civil Parish is mentioned in "Lewis Topographical Dictionary, 1837" which is on part of the "From Ireland" web siteŠ Dr. Jane Lyons

um i don't know if bordwell has to do with the parish but nothing has happened to us because i am a bordwell there's just not a lot of us
