« on: Friday 08 October 04 18:40 BST (UK) »

Could somebody with access to the 1851 census of Buckinghamshire look up William Howlett b. 1833/35 to Henry Howlett in the parish of Burnham.
Rest of family at this time unknown therefore would like details.
Many thanks

Hi.

Sorry, there is no sign of your William or Henry Howlett on the Bucks 1851.
I have tried variations of spelling but still no luck.

There are a family of Howletts in Farnham Royal with the head being a William. If you think they may be related I can send you their details, otherwise, sorry.

It's so frustrating when folks are not where you expect them to be, isn't it.

Hi Maddie,
Are there any Henry Howletts showing on the census born between 1796 and 1810 approximately in the Burnham area?
My Howletts are somewhat of a pain as they were initially Agricultural Labourers and eventually Railway Labourers/Engineers.  They were rather nomadic and I have been unable to pin them down in one location!
Yes please, the other details on William would be great.
Many thanks,
Emma

Hi Emma

Again, sorry there are no Henry Howletts of that age on the census, but I have found one who I think could be from the Farnham Royal family. He is,

Henry Howlett aged 22 born Farnham Royal, he is a servant in the employ of an Edward Coleridge, a lower master of Eton College.

The Howletts from Farnham Royal are,

William Howlett Head aged 47 Gardener born Wooburn

Louisa Howlett Wife aged 46   born Farnham Royal

John  Howlett Son aged 16 Brick Labourer

Louisa Howlett Dau aged 9 born Farnham Royal

James Howlett Son aged 6 born Farnham Royal

Sarah Howlett Mother aged 80 Pauper, Carpenters Widow, born Wooburn

Harriett Moody Sister in Law aged 37 born Farnham Royal.

The census doesn't give the exact address but the area included the road from Burnham to Farnham Royal.

Hope this is of some help to you. Maybe your Henry & this William were brothers. !!!!!!!

Regards

Hi Maddie,
sorry for the delay in reply.  I keep forgetting to check my messages as so new to this site.
Many thanks for your time on this one, you could be onto something there.
