Looking for a place - Corrobogan
« on: Tuesday 28 March 06 13:57 UTC (UK) »

I'm trying to find a place called Corrobogan in Mayo.  I've taken the information from the census which states my family member was born there in 1840.  ??

Hello.  Could it be Currabaggan?  I believe this place is near Knockmore near Ballina?  Hope it helps.  Dee

Parish for Corrobogan

Hi KJK123

Do you know which parish this is in?

I have a book that gives information about the hamlets and villages with their Gaelic names and Anglicized names.  It will make it much easier if you know the parish or give a local town to pinpoint it down.

Hi KJK123.
Try 'googling' Corravegguan.  It's near Ballynahaglish just outside Ballina, County Mayo.  I'm not sure if this is the Gaelic way of spelling it.  It's close to Lough Conn.
