Hi, 1851 census confirms John died  '47-'51

Seatown of Cullen

Margaret McGregor Fishermans Widow 35 b Buckie
William 13 ch  Portsoy
Jannett 11 ch Cullen
Mary 9       ch    "
Margaret 7 ch   "
John 5 ch          "

Elizabeth 3 ch   "

All listed as Paupers.

Living next door is a William Hay and family who might be John's parents and siblings.

thanks for reply  I have the 1851 census and can see Margaret Mcgregor had moved from Portsoy by this time.   I am wondering if the  William and family that is above are a brother of the John Hay but without birth certificates for them both I'm stuck.  Margaret Mcgregor was 82? in 1899 when she died so I have her parents James Mcgregor and Betsy Wood.
