Ooooh!  Gotta join in on this one!

My great grandads were: -

Christopher Robert Tatham, b. Poplar, London, 7/12/1859 (son of Dr Robert Gordon Tatham and Emma Louisa nee Dixon; -later divorced - one of the family skeletons  Shocked )

Ambrose Llewellyn Powell, b. Newtown, Sydney, Aust on 5/11/1882 (son of Charles Glendower Powell the mystery man, & second wife Catherine Joyner)

Alexander Kinnear, b. Innerleven, Fife, Scotland 1872 (son of Alexander Kinnear and his wife Isabella Rodger) - died 1908, having come off second-best in an argument with a train  Shocked

*  and Archibald Mitchell, b. Scotland, 1874 (son of James Mitchell and wife Helen Henderson)

However, ... I also had a step-gt grandfather, since my gt-grandma Kinnear (nee "Lizzie" Lumsden Baird) had scarpered to Australia in 1908 (perhaps the reason for gt-grandad's argy with the train?) ... and subsequently married John Benjamin Haerse!  He's the gt-grandad I remember, obviously.
