Samuel if ever an Ag Lab looked like one it was he

Hi
Can anyone with access to the relevant Shropshire archive help me out with some research please.
I have been researching an Edward Fleet who appears as an Ironmonger in Macclesfield in the late 1700's, he also married in the area, I am trying to find his origins, Edward Fleet married Nancy Morton 30th Dec 1800 at St Peter Prestbury. in his will (dated 1806) he mentions his son John and brothers Richard and Thomas. The surname Fleet is not a surname common to the Macclesfield area and I can not find a mention of it before Edward. With the help of the IGI I have found this likely family in Whitchurch
John Fleet/Hannah Fleet parents to (baptism dates) John 17/6/1757- Benjamin 12/12/1760- Benjamin 6/2/1762- Richard 22/10/1764- John 22/2/1770- Edward 9/6/1772- Thomas 16/3/1777
I need to find out if the occurrences of two baptisms for children of the same names are because of the deaths of the earlier ones or is there 2 differant families with a John and Hannah as parents.
Also if the family stayed in the Whitchurch area, or could they have migrated up country a bit, and be the ones I am looking for.
Any help will be much appreciated

Hello Peter
I can check the Fleet family out for you at the Shropshire Archives - I already have a list of look ups so I'll add yours too!!!
The only thing is I won't be able to go for another two weeks yet. My parents usually looks after my son for me when I'm researching, but tomorrow they are off on holiday for a fortnight. I will pay another visit to the Archives when they return.

Hi Peter
I have been to the Shropshire Archives today and looked for your Fleet family in Whitchurch.
I checked the parish records for all the baptisms that you mentioned in your original post, and they all say "son of John and Hannah Fleet". There's no maiden name or abode, so impossible to tell if one or two families.
By the way, I couldn't see the Banjamin baptised 12/12/1760. I did check the whole year but still nothing......then I ran out of time!!!!!
Let me know if you would like me to check anything else next time I go.
