I am looking for the baptism of a John Bayley circa 1820 at Watlington.  He omitted to state his father's name on his marriage certificate.

We hope your stay with us will further your research into your ancestors.

Saying that, unfortunately I do not have any Whatlington records at home other than the 1841 and 1851 census, and I am afraid the Bayley / Bailey do not appear in either.

Finding information on his baptism is going to be a Parish Register job at the Local Records Office

Thanks for your reply.  Oh well, it's back to planning a trip to Lewes then.

I shall certainly be keeping a close eye on the Sussex unit on Rootschat.
