Hello Everyone
My 3 x grandfather, William Leach was 41 at the time of the 1881 census, so I take it that he was born c1840.
On the census it states he was born in Buckinghamshire, and on the 1891 census it has actually been put, that he was born in Little Wolston, Bucks.
Question 1. Where would his birth have been registered? Question 2. Are there any surviving Parish Records for Little Wolston? Question 3. How many churches are/were there in the village?
I have only just started this branch of the family, so any help from "people in the know" from this part of England, would be very much appreciated.
Thank You JeannieR

Hi
Could this be your William Leach from the 1851 census.
Living in Wolverton Prt 2. The part of the parish comprising the Chapelry District of St George the Martyr, being the Railway Station, Stone Bridge House & Mead Mill.
James Leach Head aged 30 Labourer born Milton Keynes.
Caroline Leach Wife aged 30 born Woolstone
WILLIAM Leach son aged 11 born Woolstone
Steven Leach son aged 9 born Woolstone
Julia Leach dau aged 7 born Woolstone
Jane Leach dau aged 5 born Bradwell
Matilda Leach dau aged 3 born Wolverton
George Leach son aged 1 born Wolverton
The info on the census disc states that the registration district is Newport Pagnall. In 1841 the population of the village was only 115 people, the smallest village in Bucks.
Hope this is of some help to you
regards Maddie

Thank You so much Maddie,
I feel certain that this may be the right family.
My William, named a son James, and a daughter Emily, that is usually a good sign I think . As Little Woolstone had such a small population, if these are the only Leaches' at that time, it's looking good.
Thank you once again,
JeannieR
