Missing person
« on: Tuesday 04 April 06 17:51 BST (UK) »

Hi,
I'm looking for anyone who could help trace what happened to my grandfather. His name was James Edward French and he was born in Middlesbrough in1904. He was married to Elizabeth Allison in 1928 and they had 3 children Austin James, Maureen and Dorothy. Elizabeth died in 1938 and the children were brought up by their granny and their aunt.I would love to know what happened to James after that, where he lived ,when he died(and where). If he remarried and had anymore children
Any help much appreciated thanx Ainsley Smiley

you could try looking on www.teesvalley-indexes.co.uk this is all the births/marriages/deaths for Middlesbrough. If you go on the indexes it will tell you the years that it covers and you can search as well.

Good morning, how you thought about placing article in the local paper, every week our Evening Gazette runs a feature 'Where are they now', this is a good way maybe to see if there is any family left in the Middlesbrough area.

the web page for the gazette is
http://icteesside.icnetwork.co.uk/0100news/ .

I live very near Middlesbrough so if i can help in anyway please let me know

Good luck

Hi Jane,
Thanx for the offer but I already live in the Boro myself. The problem is Im not the only member of James family trying to find out what happened to him.I've found cousins I didnt know I had who are trying to trace what happened to him with no joy!!! He just seems to of disappeared from Middlesbrough around the mid 1950's.
I've been told that he wasnt a very nice person but he was my grandfather and I would of liked the chance to of found that out for myself, but it wasnt to be
