Hi Trish and Ruskie,
The National Library lets you access all sorts of licenced databases once you have your card.
I found the easiest way in was via the home page http://www.nla.gov.au/ where they have a "Get A Library Card" link.
Card arrived within a week.

Hi Dee and all
Tis amazing how things change. I have been at the state library quite alot lately. Computers have well taken over - very few people in the book areas, but the computer areas are overflowing & the microfilm room is somewhat crowded at times also. That will probably change as more of the "stuff" on film and fiche goes online
And it is one of the few areas where the government provides the services, with no charge to use same. I keep wondering when this will change!
Trish

Thank you Andy, Trish and Dee.
I have joined the Qld State Library, but haven't used the card or anything else yet. I'm sure there are many gems there for me yet to discover.
I'm going to check the links and join everything!

I've accessed the Times DA quite a bit, through the State Library!
Have sent off my request to the National Library. They will probably now be overwhelmed with requests to join from Rootschatters!!
Trish, don't you be giving the governments any ideas they shouldn't have, now!
