Seeking any information, especially marriage & parentage, about Thomas FRAZER/FRAZIER b 1816, probably in Down; married c 1840s Martha McALPINE b c 1814. Was living in Gilford, Down, in late 1860s. Thomas and Martha have at least two children buried 1864 in Tullylish old Presbyterian graveyard. Two other sons were doctors- Henry FRAZER MD and Samuel FRAZER MD.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much for your help, Jennifer. I do appreciate it. Ros Davies' site is amazing- the basis of my post came from there. I've also checked marriage indexes at the LDS, and commissioned a researcher in Armagh, but without success so far. I'll keep trying!
Thankyou,
Bruce

Jennifer, you're too kind! If your visit should work out, that would be great. We visited Tullylish, PRONI (and more) from Australia in 2000, but didn't know then that we had rellies buried there. According to Ros Davies they are Jessie FRAZER and Thomas FRAZER, both d 1864, aged 18 and 21 respectively. They are supposed to be in the old Presbyterian graveyard of the derelict church, not the new one.
Many thanks for your interest,
Bruce Frazer Melbourne

Hi Bruce Had a scan through the Glenravel online "Timelines" and came across a number of references to Frazer's that might be of interest in the belfast area.
Jul 1844 - "The imperial Hotel, Donegall Place is now completed. It is acknowledged to be the best and most elegant hotel in the north and its proprietor, Mr T Frazer, wishes it to be known that an omnibus is always available to transfer travellers and their luggage to the railway terminus and the steam packets, free of charge."
Sep 1844 - "A fete was held in Botanic Gardens in which the band of the 5th Fusiliers players and Mr Batty's company of equestrian performers gave a display. Over 4,000 people attended. A tent was erected by Mr Frazer of the Imperial Hotel to provide refreshments."
Feb 1849 - "Mr Frazer of the Imperial Hotel died suddenly aged 34." That would put his birth at about 1815 or 16
Sep 1857 - "Thomas Frazer has been charged by a constable on behalf of the Society for the Prevention of Cruely to Animals, with wounding cows as he put them on the Whitehaven Steamer. It is said he plunged a knife into the cows near the rump so that blood came."
Nov 1872 - "John Frazer (38)committed suicide, by strangulation, in a house ot Letitia Street, Of Millfield. The deceased who was a pensioner, was a dealer in Smithfield. He left a wife and family. Verdict of death while in a state of insanity."
Apr 1888 - "Martha Frazer was charged with larceny of a pair of boots, property of James Tiernan, Falls Road. She was gaoled for three months."
Aug 1893 - "Joseph Frazer was summoned for having stabbed Hugh Carlisle. He was returned for trial to the Recorders Court."
Hope this is of help
Gary
