1861 lookup please....Berkhampstead/Tring

Hello All...

I am on the trail of.... Thomas Favel/Favell b@1841 Beds

 He married Harriet Johnson in Berkhampstead 1861 3rd qtr.
 Their first child Elizabeth was born in Tring in 1863. Harriet lists Tring as her birth place. Are they in either of these two places please?

If they weren't married until the 3rd quarter of 1861, they won't be on the 1861 census as a married couple Smiley Maybe it may be better to look for them on the 1871 Smiley

Hi Thanks Nessie....

I have them in Leighton Buzzard in 1871 with more children.
Thomas father was William a travelling brazier so thought they may have travelled south before he met and married Harriet.

Did find a Thomas Flavel of the right age but he was in Staffordshire so didn't bother looking at the census. With the additional information about his father will go back and check Smiley

William Favell  hd marr 60 travelling brazier b not known lincs...

this is 1851 HO107/1756 F158 P30

It was the wrong one for Staffordshire as the father was Thomas Smiley Will keep looking

Do you have Harriet Johnson in 1851?  I think I have found her in Northchurch Herts aged 11 although she gives her place of birth as Wigginton.  Head of household is Ann Brackley born Sheer Lane, Bucks who is Harriet's Aunt.

If you would like all the details let me know and I will post them.

Not sure what else you have on your Thomas Favell but would this fit?

1861 - Hollis Lane, Wilden, Bedfordshire

William Favell (55) Ag Lab - (birthplace given as Wilden but has been dittoed down from top of page Roll Eyes)
Lydia Favell (45) Wife - Lacemaker - also Wilden
Thomas Lemuel Favell - son (17) Ag Lab (birthplace given as Huntingdonshire, Midloe?)
Ruth Elizabeth -daughter (10) lacemaker born Wilden
George Henry - son (7) Scholar born Wilden
Susannah - daughter (5) Scholar born Wilden
Walter William - son (2) born Wilden

Next door is a Mary Toms (77) - widowed Pauper born B???hurst.   She has a 12-year old grandchild living with her - Isabella Favell - lacemaker born Midloe, Hunts.

I'm not too familiar with Bedfordshire places and their distance from each other but this was the only one I could find that had right age, father, etc.
