Thomas Smedley – Census Lookup 1861 and after in Australia

Could some one help me find out more about an ancestor of mine in any census or other source AFTER 1851?

His name is Thomas Smedley born in Ashby de la Zouch Leicestershire on 18th September 1834.

In the 1851 Census he is living in Ashby de la Zouch with his parents aged 16,  a Plumber and Glaziers apprentice.

Since that time I have lost track of him. 

I believe sometime after 1851 he may have moved to Nottingham.  Emigration to Australia took place at some stage after that.

I believe he may married Selina Stock possibly in Australia but I am unsure of the facts.

He had a daughter called Selina Smedley born about 1864 in  Araluen in the southern highlands of NSW, Australia. 

If anyone can help me to fill in the gaps it would be really appreciated.

Later Selina Smedley Married Henry Edward JAMIESON and I have most of the details after this.

http://bdm.nsw.gov.au.
Thomas Smedley married Selvia (selina?) Stock in Sydney 1862.Couldn't find any births for children of this couple though,

Hi Andy

Thomas SMEDLEY married in Sydney, New South Wales in 1862. Ref No 39.
The index lists the bride as Selvia STOCK (but the handwritten records are hard to read so this is most probably a transcript error)

Selina J SMEDLEY was born in Braidwood in 1864 ref No 6659.
This record has the correct mother's name.

Thomas died in 1866- age about 40- also in Braidwood - Ref No 3574.

I also found a marriage in Braidwood in 1866 Ref No 1659 of Selina SMEDLEY to William Matthew SULLIVAN.
There are at least four births registered to this marriage if you would like details of those just let me know

Researching names BRYANT (Camberwell), PASTERFIELD (Essex and all), RAY (Holborn/Islington areas back to Brentford), POWELL (Glouc & beyond?)
Fletcher (Glouc into Warwickshie into Lancs?), BUCKLEY (Chatham area), Watson (Chatham area).
