Neilston -- murder polis!

My GGGranda Charles Gallacher was allegedly murdered in Neilston in 1885 (Date of Death 5/7/1885 - Western Infirmary, Glasgow).

Does anybody know of any sources where i can corroborate this story.

although having had a look through there is nothing listed ... perhaps if you contact them they may be able to help.

I note there is a RCE -Record of Corrected Entry with this Death.Have you/had somebody else been to Edinburgh & looked it up?It might give you more details but it looks like a violent death of some type!

Yes you have to go in person or have somebody search on your behalf.
It is a fiche which may contain extra details.However I have looked at the Death records for somebody I know was murdered & it gave no more details than the causes & place & estimated date of Death.
I may go to NRH at the end of May(depends when a new member of the family is born!)& if you want I would have a look for you.It is all dependant on the newest member of the family so it may be Aug before I go.

death is given after a preamble as "caused by blood poisoning owing to wound in leg caused by misadventure, 16 days".

Apologies all. 

Have the RCE problem sorted out.  Of the 3 deaths on the same page, there were 2 RCE's.  When I downloaded the RCe it had the first persons on it, however Charles' RCE was on a second page which I didn't notice.  Please pm me your e-mail adresses for a copy.
