THOMAS WRIGHT IN CLERKENWELL 1841, 1851
« on: Wednesday 13 October 04 05:54 BST (UK) »

I believe that my ancestor THOMAS WRIGHT (1791-?), a watchmaker/watchfinisher, was living in Clerkenwell with his wife Louisa and 8 children (Mary Ann, Thomas W., Harriet Lavinia, Louisa, William, Henry, Hannah and Clara) at the time of the 1841 census. His daughter Clara was born in Clerkenwell in 1840 and my gg grandmother Harriet Lavinia Wright (1823-?) married John Jordan (1820-1890), a watchmaker and hand chronometer maker, at St. Marks Clerkenwell in 1847 (she is listed as residing on Pasture Court) . Is there an index for the 1841 and 1851 census that might locate them in the St. Lukes, Clerkenwell, and possibly Shoreditch/Hoxton areas?

I have checked the complete Clerkenwell 1851 Census index,  but cannot find the Thomas WRIGHT & family that you describe.

I am not aware of an 1841 index for Clerkenwell.

Sorry
