Just been saying on the YT thread on the TOT Board how great it was to watch an episode where I recognised so many things... unlike those from the UK...... wonderful..... I even recognised the film reader from the State Library... I used that same one a week or so ago.......

Really enjoyed this! What an interesting family.
Nicky Campbell had previously traced his birth parents and written a book.
And not without controversy: http://www.rootschat.com/links/03pb/ (an old article from 2003)

Nick showed more awe and compassion to his adoptive family than many (other shows) seemed to show toward their blood families... ..I must say, I haven't seen too many shows. The pride he showed, and then his mother was the clincher at the end.. ..."It is we, who are blessed"
PS What a beautiful city we have....Brisbane.

Yes pjbuk, this is Series 4 (?) of WDYTYA which was aired in the UK last year.
They are being shown on our pay (subscription)-TV station called UKTV .
Yes, you have a point kenjo, and it is this emotional aspect that the series plays upon wherever possible - note the close up shots of any tears .... there are many such moments in other episodes (I've seen the majority of them).
I also imagine that some are not so willing to show this side of themselves to the cameras. Some may also have their own agendas .
Having said that I love the series and find them all interesting though there have been many criticisms. I also thought that Nicky Campbell came across very well (and I'd never had much regard for him previously).

I love this series... even though we get it over here about a year after it first airs in the UK and most of the episodes get chatted about on the boards here.... so I know what's coming.
