I guess we have 2 types of missing folks - those such as MarieC's who disappear into the future & those like my Irish who disappear into the past. I wonder which are the best/worst easiest/hardest to try and find
Trish
I think that's an unanswerable question, Trish! They are all b***** frustrating! I'm not battering my head on two brick walls any more, but I shall keep my antennae up as I go on with other things, just in case there's a minute clue somewhere!
I've four seventeenth century wills to transcribe with difficult handwriting - that will stop me thinking of Edward and Eleanor for quite a bit!

Hi Barbara,
Not giving up on your Ernest, just yet
Have been reading your threads on Ernest, and wondered if there was any other information, what I have read so far is; he has not been found except for his birth, marriage and death under the name Ernest Abbott Onley. He was known as Fred/Frederick and sometimes with the surname of Blunt. Do you know when he used the surname Blunt?
He had an adopted sister, name unknown, who was older than Ernest, but sadly died at age 14. Ernest ran away from home/boarding school around the age of 14.
Ernest possibly served with the Royal Engineers, in the UK during WWI. His occupation was a carpenter and he worked with theatres/shows.
Sorry to be asking just questions.
Interestingly still cannot find mother Louisa or her brother Walter on the 1901, possibly just coincindence

It could be a very LONG pub crawl, Barbara, because we don't know where to start looking for these wretches!
