Help with the 1841 Census for Baston please
« on: Friday 14 April 06 16:03 BST (UK) »

I wonder whether anyone can give me some advise please ?

I am trying to trace the parents of William Hardy born c. 1834 Baston in Bourne area of Lincolnshire.
I have subscribed to Stepping Stones and the 1841 Census for Lincolnshire is there on line . Both Baston and Bourne are mentioned with film numbers, but although i have spent ages I am not coming up with anything for Baston.

I don't find the instructions very clear, it's probably something obvious I'm doing wrong - so if anyone out there can tell me I would be most grateful

Thanks

There were no HARDYs in Baston 1841.

There were no HARDYs baptised in Baston 1812-1833 (which is when the IGI finishes).

Hi
I am researching my branch of Hardy's from Thurlby near Bourne. My ancestor John Hardy bapt. 1791 Thurlby near Bourne, parents John Hardy and Mary nee Bellamy. Have you had any luck finding more about your William?

Hello Geoff E
If you would be so kind could you please tell me if there are any KENDALLS  in Baston in 1841.  I am looking for the parents of John Kendall aged 40 iin 1841 Census for Witham-on-the-Hill, Lincs. They may have been William & Mary Kendall of Baston if he was in fact born earlier and baptised in Baston 31 May 1795 or this could be a child who died.  He could be a later child of same name.
Any help much appreciated. Thank you
Graham

I think Elizabeth HOLMES was widow of Mark (buried WotH 1 Nov 1840 aged 41), making her Elizabeth GOODWIN bap 12 Feb 1797 at WotH, dau of James and Jane.

Thank you so much Geoff for your trouble - express delivery too and all this information which is great.   I am finding it hard to sort these Kendalls out before Witham-on-the-Hill.   I have been in touch with a descendant of the Holmes/Kendall part so knew some of it but thanks again for all.
Best wishes
