Please can anyone help me I have been trying to knock this brickwall down for ever!!!!

Mary Jane Dimond (could be spelt differently) born Chagford c1843 or any possible family connection would be helpful.

are you looking for the birth details? There are some possible on freebmd
Mary Daimond 3Q 1842 10 158 Okehampton
or
Mary Ann Daiment 3Q 1846 10 163 Okehampton
The only Mary Jane I could see was born Stoke Damerel 1Q 1840. Freebmd coverage of 1842 is over 90% for all quarters and in 1843 only 1Q isn't 100%.
It's very good at coming up with alternate spellings on the phonetic search for Dimond. Don't know if you have any to try that it doesn't come up with. Amazingly it was working reasonably efficiently when I was using it earlier and completed all my own searches as well.
