hi

i am looking for william sutherland from brighton 1801

i have him on the 1851 census married to ann
he was born approx 1801 in brighton

his wife ann was born 1805 in brighton

i would like to find their marriage to gain parents details
or their births

No further details on the Sussex Marriage Index.  Just bachelor and spinter, both of this parish.   If you have not been using the IGI then it should d be first for that sort of query from now on!
www.familysearch.org    the International Genealogical Index bit.   It is not full coverage by any means but has enough parish records on it for most people to find a few ancestors.   You can order the film so look at at your nearest LDS centre.  The original entry may have more details such as witnesses etc.

LMA does not have records outside of LONDON

and i think brighton could be at 2 different ones
do you know which it will be

If you are in London then the Society of Genealogists has many parish registers on film.   Otherwise Lewes record office or probably Brighton Library or I have a feeling there is a new archives place in Brighton.  There is a large LDS centre in London too.
Once you are in the particular IGI record online then click on the batch number and put in the surname and you may get other family members.
