Dear All,

Does anyone have access to the'41 census for the following family?

Richard STRINGER born 1809 - Liversidge/Roberttown - Yorkshire
Sarah Ann (Wife)   "       1811      "                 "
Mary Ann (Daur)     "      1835    Stalybridge
Eliza  (Daur)           "      1839           "

On the 1851 c, the family were living 38, Canal Street. Dukinfield and as the daughters were born Stalybridge (as were the children that were born later - I don't think the family can have been anywhere else).

Your friends over in lancashire have checked the Lancs '41c but don't have them listed so I'm fingers crossed you can locate them.

Richard's occupation was a joiner.

The only possible that I can find is:
1841 Census

Reg Dist Ashton under Lyne
Sub Reg Dukinfield
ED 24 Folio 23 Page 41
Canal Street, Dukinfield (it is listed on the index as Stockport, which is why its difficult to find)
Richard Stringer 30 Wheelwright born in County-No
Mary Stringer 7 born in County-Yes

I will go back to see if I can find Sarah and Eliza.

Hi Anne

Just to let you know I found Sarah Stringer and Eliza (daughter)
on the 1841 census living in Yorkshire with Richard's brother, George.

Found George's record by accident  (didn't know ancestry had released the '41 census) and there was Sarah & Eliza !!

Hope you read this before spending your valuable time looking for them in Cheshire.

Many thanks for Richard's look-up though - very much appreciated.
