Roman Catholic records
« on: Thursday 20 April 06 12:19 BST (UK) »

Essex Record Office has a series of Roman Catholic records with the reference D/K which you can view online at SEAX. At first sight, at least, those archives do not seem to promise much and this seems the most promising:

Repository: Essex Record Office
Level: Category  Roman Catholic records
Level: Fonds  THORNDON HALL CHAPEL, WEST HORNDON

Level:
Item
Reference Code  D/K 1/1
Dates of Creation 1759-1857
Extent 1 vol.
Scope and Content Register of Baptisms
Gives date of child's birth often and names of sponsors always; in Latin, 1814-6 and from 1829 onwards; from 1844 onwards including baptisms at Grays, Ingrave, E. Horndon etc.; including confirmation lists, 1762-1852; at front: marriage licence, 1838, and memoranda of marriages, 1788 and 1792 ( a few occur among baptismal entries; see P.F. Coverdate, `Note on the Baptismal Register of the Catholic Chapel of Thorndon Park...' Essex Recuscant vol. 1, no, 1, pp. 37-45)

Date From 1759
Date To 1857

It's http://seax.essex.gov.uk
If you click on 'Guest' and then enter 'D/K' in the box 'Document Reference' you should then get 3 pages of what RC records are available at Essex RO.
Re-reading my first message I realise it could give the impression that you can actually access the records online but unfortunately that is not the case.
