Swineford?
« on: Monday 09 March 09 10:30 UTC (UK) »

Hi all,

Does anyone know what towns/villages would have been covered by Swineford parish records in 1800/1900s?

In early 1900's were Protestant and RC births/deaths/marriages all recorded at same place?

Is there a particular place to look for baptism of RC children for those periods ?

Is there anyway to find names of farmers/farm owners in that same time period in Mayo ?

Thanks

Index to Irish civil registrations (births, marriages, deaths- regardless of religion):

Griffith's Valuation (mid 1800s- slightly too early perhaps):

Hi

thanks for your replies as a result i know in the Griffith valuation find that a William Maye was a tenant of Thomas Sheridan in Ballina.
Only problem is I cannot find any record of his birth or who his wife was or what year this would have been.

Does any one have any suggestions where to go next ?

Thank you all for all your hard work and willingness to offer help and advise

Civil registration of births started in 1864- for earlier dates you need to search for church records (if they exist).
